The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. Psalm 145, 18 & 19
The greatest miracle
People crowd around Jesus. A lot of them are curious to see him who accomplishes miracles and of whom everybody speaks. In the middle of the crowd there is an anonymous woman who is unhappy and who has been ill for 12 years. She went to see a lot of doctors, she tried all kinds of cures, but without success: her health worsens more and more. Even more, she spent all she had and is left without resources and hopeless.
Maybe you are also in a dead-end, ill in your body or your spirit, alone with your problem and without hope for improvement. After having tried all solutions in vain, what can you do?
The woman had heard speaking about Jesus. She tries to find a way to him. She thinks: "If only I could touch his cloak I would be healed". Is she right to believe in his power? Is he a doctor? Does he really have the solution for her problem? The woman is trembling and comes up behind him. She lightly touches the edge of Jesus' cloak with her fingers. Immediately, she is healed. She knows it and she feels it. Her tiredness goes away and joy replaces her hopelessness.
