Enlightened trust

This woman of faith answered: "This goes beyond your understanding? I don't have a problem to understand it. Do you always explain your intentions when you give a job to one of your workers? Surely not. You expect that he will obey you without any discussion. He suspects that you have your reasons. So, would the Lord not have the right to keep his reasons for himself? Besides, can we always understand them?"

Yes, indeed! God does not keep his children completely in the dark; he loves to share his thoughts with them. However, first of all, he desires that his own get to know him. If he is known, his acts will be understood at the correct moment. God is infinitely wise and he loves us. We can put our lives into his hands with confidence.

We are also disconcerted like this friend of Bunyan by such a confidence. How many times do we question ourselves in regard to what God allows! We would easily be prepared to ask him to give account! Are these attitudes not distrust or incredulity?
