Jesus visits me

The Lord Jesus visit to Zacchaeus challenges us, you and me. What position do we give him in our life?

Is he the guest whom we will only meet on Sundays outside our homes? Is the state of our house so disastrous that we prefer to have a meeting far away from every day life?

Is he the guest we welcome at home when we need help or an advice, but when everything is well we forget him?

Is he only the guest we speak to in the morning and in the evening or before each meal?

Or is he the guest of each moment as he wishes? Do we inform him about our successes, our problems, our victories as well as our defeats?

However, maybe there are still some rooms of my house where I keep the keys so that he cannot have access? The key of my granary so that he cannot discover my secret thoughts, resentment, longing, bitterness, dissatisfaction; the key of my safe so that I am not obliged to admit the egoist management of my money; the key of my library where there are books which should not be there, etc.

Yes, I love Jesus my Saviour, I am happy to open my whole house to him and to give him access at every moment and to the least nook of my heart.
