Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. 1 Peter 1, 3 & 8

1st April Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be. Amen! Revelation 1, 7 Glorious appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ The described period of judgments in Revelation will be marked by the battle at Armaggedon (Revelation 16, 16 & 19, 19). Then the Lord Jesus Christ will appear in the clouds of the sky with great power and glory." (Mark 13, 26) It will be the great deliverance for the faithful and the big gathering of the believers from the ends of the earth (v. 27). At the same time all the martyrs of that terrible period will be resurrected (Revelation 20, 4). It will also be the day which most of the prophets of Israel had announced. This day is also announced in the book of Psalms. It will be a day of triumph and rest for faith. |
The world will be amazed when seeing Jesus Christ in his royal splendour. His human history started in a manger and ended on a cross! Up to then he is described as suffering and humiliated. He will appear under a different aspect. This is why Isaiah can announce: "So will he sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand." (Isaiah 52, 15)
The disciples would have liked to know the exact date of these events, but Jesus did announce it to them as well as he did not announce the moment of his return to take his Church away. Why did he not do it? He didn't do it to keep our heart awake every day.
