However, can we get used to such a kind of news which often is on the front page of the newspapers? These broken lives of young people remind us that the accident is not far away when a number of facts are combined: alcohol, obsession of speed, need for escape, contempt and even search for danger ... Behind all this we find resignation, helplessness or absence of parents and empty spirits and hearts without solid moral reference marks.

The human heart needs true love and is thirsty for happiness and stability. Where can these things be found? Can they be found in deceitful pleasures or friendships of an evening? To be part of a group gives a certain impression of strength and to laugh together makes one forget the problems. However, "even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in grief" (Proverbs 14, 13). God is the only one who can fill him who believes in him with joy and peace. This peace doesn't depend on what happens to us because it comes from an absolute confidence towards the God of peace.
