A man is reading the Bible

A testimony

By reading the Bible I learnt who is God, what he has done and what he has said to men. I have understood that he lives eternally, that he doesn't change, that he knows, sees and records everything. He is good, righteous, holy, mighty, wise and infinitely patient.

However, I also learnt what I was: an egoistic and conceited person, indifferent towards God's will. I wanted to live my life according to my way without considering my Creator. I was very guilty in front of him.

Finally, I learnt that God offers me his forgiveness and his peace. I didn't have to do anything, I didn't have to pay anything. God absolutely undertook everything. He himself offered the greatest possible ransom: his Son Jesus Christ who came from heaven to earth to speak to us about the God of love.

I noticed that my life was a setback in front of God and I turned towards him. I asked him to forgive me through Jesus Christ who died for me on the cross. As he never rejects anyone who comes to him with uprightness he has forgiven me.

Today I know that I am washed from all my sins through the blood of Jesus. I am clean, pure and I can support God's look. God is very holy. Even more than that, I am born again (John 3), I have become God's child and I am part of a new family. What a marvellous grace! My life is a new life in the joy of the Lord!
