Let us be a testimony
A recent documentary film about insects describes in a short frequence a small spider of marsh which is called argyronite. This spider lives in the water like a diver. It builds a kind of diver bell made of silk and which is waterproof between the water plants. It fills this bell with air. Periodically the argyronite comes up to the surface to get oxygen in a kind of small fixed bubbles at the hairs of it's abdomen - don't ask me how. It uses these bubbles to inflate it's small submarine house where it lives, hunts, breeds and raises it's offspring.
This small clever insect should be an example to us Christians. We are called to live, to work, to raise our children in a world where the moral atmosphere often is unbreathable. Regularly, we have to come to the surface, renew our supply of heavenly air. If we don't have this heavenly air we will suffocate. Regular reading of the Bible and prayer are necessary to keep our relations with heaven.
What do the cosmonauts do to live a few hours or a few days outside the earth atmosphere? They take their air with them. This is what we should do when we are in dubious company. Take our air with us and breath it.
