But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Philippians 3, 20 & 21

The second coming of the Lord

(What the Bible says)

When will Jesus come again? "Behold, I am coming soon!" (Revelation 22, 12). Don't forget that with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day" (2 Peter 3, 8).

How will the Lord come again? "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4, 16).

How will the Lord take us up to heaven? "The dead in Christ will rise first; after that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4, 16 & 17).

How should we expect him? "Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know the day or hour" (Matthew 25, 13). "The Lord is near; Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4, 5 - 7).
