Jesus says: I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 14, 29 & 20, 31

Can we verify?

When I was a young believer I tried to read the whole Bible from the beginning to the end. I reached Ezekiel which seemed difficult. However, I was surprised to find something known in chapter 26. This chapter speaks about the city Tyre which I had studied when I was at college. This city was the mistress of extremely rich seas. Ezekiel calls to mind this prosperity by listing it's several commercial relations and merchandises. He also describes it's ruin in a fascinating way. This city will soon be "a naked rock and a place where to spread it's nets."

When I was reading this sentence I had a thought: "Can we verify whether the prophet tells the truth?" Immediately I consulted the encyclopedic dictionary of my parents and I stated that the prophet was right. Tyre was attacked by powerful invaders and was totally destructed. This confirmation stimulated my faith. Since the Bible told the truth about this city a long time in advance, all it's other teachings are true.

The revelations in the Bible which cannot be verified by nature receive by this fact an authentic stamp. The revelations about God, his righteousness, his love, his will to save us and many others have to be accepted in a simple way of a small child.
