7th January There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3, 23 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5, 8 A sad family The believer answers with a serious tone: "As for me, my origines are not very glorious. My father and my mother were gardners with a good master and they lived happily. However, one day my mother who had received a bad counsel committed a theft and my father became an abettor of this theft. They were dismissed and therefore had to carry miserably the consequences of their mistake. This is not everything; I had two brothers ; one who was in anger, assassinated the other one. But, sir, in the end are we not closely connected? The allusion to Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel is obvious. Genesis chapters 3 and 4 speak about Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel. None of us can disown these ancestors. Our nature is established by our relationships. We alle have herited the genes of sin inside ourselves. God's sentence is the same to all: after death there will be a judgment (Hebrews 9, 27). However, there is one remedy, only one: Jesus who was crucified and he took the judgment which we would have deserved. He payed all our debts which we had incurred in front of God's holiness. Let us consider the love of God's son who made himself man in order to suffer and die for us! |
