When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God Almighty. Jeremiah 15, 16

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. Hebrews 1, 1 & 2

God spoke to me

A few years ago in the Soviet Union there were only a few Christians who possessed a Bible. Members of one church had prayed for this subject for a long time. One day a Western visitor came to this town and gave a Bible to the pastor. The Sunday after the believers were very happy and they thanked God when their pastor showed them his Bible. At last they could hear the pastor reading God's word. However, at the end of the church service there was a new surpise. The pastor handed out a page of this Bible to everybody which so much was expected. He wanted to share his treasure so that everybody could read it personally.

A few days later, the pastor meets a member who greets him with a large smile: He shouted: "I am very happy with the page of the prophet Jeremiah which you have given to me." The pastor asked him: "Do you think it is encouraging? Yet Jeremiah did not have an easy life. He was arrested, beaten, thrown into a pit and probably killed in exile." Well, exactly, this page touched me because it starts like this: "While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him a second time" (Jeremiah 33, 1). Since God spoke to his tested prophet in such dark times he can also speak to me and this is what touched me.
