There are so many reasons why we can feel misunderstood and isolated. When we loose a near relative, when we are forgotten we feel alone, despised or unaccepted.

16th January His company in prison However, the Lord Jesus invites us to come into his presence and he draws near to us. While I was in prison because of my faith I felt the presence of the Lord as never before in my life. It was so strong. When I felt lonely I started to speak to my Lord. When I could not have any contact with other people because thick walls surrounded me I experienced that nothing could separate me from the love of God. I also understood that God had permitted me to be in prison to communicate the Gospel with the other prisoners who had never heard the Gospel before. God gave me the strength to overcome my distress to speak to the other prisoners about Jesus. Within one year 25 prisoners accepted Christ as their Saviour. "God's Word is not chained" (2 Timothy 2, 9). It is mighty and gives us freedom in times of distress and imprisonment. In the eyes of man we are left out in society, but we are ambassadors of heaven for God. "Open our eyes Lord so that we can see things as you see them." |
