14th March 4 questions why In the olive garden Jesus is praying so intensively that a drop of blood falls onto the earth. However, the disciples sleep like a log. Jesus approaches them and asks them: "Why are you sleeping?" (Luke 22, 46) The master is very afflicted! He warns them tenderly: "Stand up and pray that you will not fall into temptation." While he leaves the garden an army troup comes near to him. Judas, one of his disciples, is the leader of this army troup. He is a traitor, he surrenders his master by a kiss. This kiss is intended to point Jesus out to them who came to take him away. Jesus asks him: "Friend, why did you come?" (Matthew 26, 50) Such a word should have melted Judas' heart. Jesus is led to Caiphe the high priest to be condemned. No reason for accusation is found, however, this does not hinder a process server to beat him; Jesus says to him: "Why do you beat me?" (John 18, 23) However, the most tragic question why is the one spoken on the cross: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27, 46) Jesus gave himself the answer: "You are holy (Psalm 22, 3) and he took our sins upon him. Every believer can add his own answer: "Lord Jesus, it is because of me that you were forsaken by God. |
