6th April So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4, 18 The world and it's desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives for ever. 1 John 2, 17 Build on something solid Steel armour plating and concrete walls are symbols of solidity. However, an atomic explosion can annihilitate them. Since the old days there were people who thought that spiritual values were vague and only a little sure wheras the materialistic values were solid and real. Is not the contrary true? |
The Bible teaches us that physical world neither is the most solid nor the most important. Goodness, kindness, justice, truth for example are stronger values than all material strength. Besides, world is not eternal. Bible tells us this clearly and nowadays science catches sight of it. There was a beginning and there will be an end. However, above the world, before and after it, there are God's plans: what he wished, what he did and what he still will do. Ever since the beginning he wanted that responsible beings would freely know him and love him.
Do we yearn to build our existence on something solid? Do we feel the need of certainties and of a life goal in a world full of changes? Then let us come to God. He invites us to taste a blessed and rich relationship with him thanks to the deed of Jesus Christ, his only Son.
