14th April The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said: "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. John 1, 29 Where are you? The Creator asks Adam this question after his disobedience. Up to now he had a happy relationship with God. At the beginning he was placed in the delights of the garden of Eden. Now sin enters the world and through sin death. The godly punishment will be executed. Death touches everybody. From then on death is also in our genes (Romans 5, 12). Adam has become the boss of a guilty and mortal race. He hides himself and is afraid. Will God punish him immediately? No, he comes near to him, he looks for him and he calls him: "Where are you?" God's grace has found a wonderful way to restore the lost relationships on the basis of his righteousness. He covers Adam with a cloth made from animal skin, this cloth is the sign of an accomplished sacrifice, it is a foreshadow of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Where are you? is a question which God asks each one of us. In his grace he looks for the lost man to save him. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, on the cross of Calvary is a perfect sacrifice. |
My friend, God is challenging you. He also asks you this question: "Where are you?" Listen, God is looking for you; open your eyes to see the terrible reality that you are lost. Look at the cross where Jesus died for you. Believe in him and you will be saved for eternity.
