For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. Find out what pleases the Lord. Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5, 8 & 10 & 15 & 16

18th April Are we only Christians on Sunday? Christianity is not a mystical step kept back for official occasions. God has to lead the Christian in his every day life. Don't let us be "Christians on Sunday". Every day we are expected to realize the Lord Jesus Christ's rights on our lives. Our every day life has to be a testimony for Christ. Is it not often upsetting that we are full of energy for our concerns and so lazy for the Lord? We are called to the same Christianity: to know that Jesus Christ is seen in what we do every day, in our social, professional and family occupations. Whatever we do, even the most ordinary things, should be done in light and for God's glory. For Christianity is not a whole of religious habits or good works which we impose. Christianity is a way of being and a way of doing. We are invited to announce the qualities of him who called us from darkness to his wonderful light, not only by words but also by a behaviour which will reproduce some of these moral qualities of Jesus: his dedication and his obedience towards God, his humility, his patience and his love for the neighbour. |
