24th April Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more. Hebrews 10, 17 The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1, 7 Photo albums Do you like to look at your old photo albums? The other day I looked at some; when I do so I remember a lot of happy moments with my family. On the whole we love to keep a photo souvenir of the best moments of life but nobody would have the idea to have a photograph taken when it is not to his advantage and to keep it to remember bad moments: when we are angry for example. Would you like an album to remind you of your sins? You would not look at it very often and you would not be proud to show it to others. Well! God records our whole lives. He knows all our deeds, words and even our thoughts. He remembers each detail and will judge every human being. Fortunately, our guilty past can be erased. The mistakes which we have forgotten and those which confuse us a long time later can completely disappear. How is it possible? By the blood of Jesus Christ. He died on the cross instead of them who trust in him. His offered life answered God's requirements for his righteousness and holiness. "He made peace through his blood, shed on the cross" (Colossians 1, 20). Now God forgives and receives all who approach him in the name of Jesus Christ. |
