I don't have to give an account to anybody

"I do what I want to do"; I don't need anybody". "it is not my fault, it is the other one who provoked me" ... These are current thoughts and not only in the mouth of the young protestors!

God alone does not have to give accounts to anybody, especially not to us, his creatures, even when, with insolence, we accuse him of all the evil which happens to us! It is us the human ones, who will have to give account "of any careless word that has been spoken" (Matthew 12, 36). All the more so of the arrogant and blasphemous words, because we are responsible for our words and our behaviors, for the orientation of our life and the use of our spare time.

No, I am not my own master. Perhaps one day, God will say: I have given you intelligence, health and many capacities. What did you do with all these gifts? Give an account of your management (Luke 16, 2). He will also say: I spoke to you on a certain day, how did you listen, that day? What did you do with Jesus Christ? Who is he for you?

"He is the true God and eternal life" (1 John 5, 20).

"God has given us eternal life and this life is in his Son; he who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life ... You who believe in the name of the Son of God will have eternal life" (1 John 5, 11-13).
