We are God's children; now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Romans 8, 16 & 17

Who are the heirs?

One of the first questions asked when somebody whith a lot of money dies is: Who are the heirs? To answer this question we need to look at the testament.

Everybody knows that the Bible consists of two parts called the Old and New Testament. It is called testament because on one hand somebody is rich and on the other hand there are heirs.

The rich donator is God. All things belong to him because he has created them. Everything on earth and in heaven belongs to him.

However, who are the heirs? In the Old Testament the heirs are God's nation Israel. God gave promises to this nation and he gave it a country, Canaan, as a heritage. However, Israel despised this country; contravened the rules of heritage; it turned away from the teaching of the prophets and did not receive it's Messiah. From then on it fell under God's judgement.

However, God is love. He enjoys giving. Since Israel refused the heritage he edits a New Testament which concerns whole humanity, Jews and Non-Jews. To everybody who wishes to profit free of charge he not only gives earthly blessings but also spiritual blessings, started by everlasting life (John 10, 28).

In fact, this heritage is obtained by the death of Jesus Christ and from now on we can be happy with him who lives eternally.
