13th August And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 40, 5 God speaks and we have to answer him Seven years later he died. How did he search this truth which he declared everlasting in one of his verses by adding: "Those who past by this truth on earth have ignored everything?" He also said: "God speaks and we need to answer him". GOD SPEAKS! Psalm 19 tells us in which way God speaks to men. First of all by the voice of creation (v. 1 - 6). Creation maintains his power and wisdom, then by inspired Scripture (v. 7 - 11), Scripture rejoices the heart and illuminates the eyes. The author of the letter to the Hebrews who citates the Holy Book several times warns men against the danger of refusing Him who speaks from heaven (Hebrews 12, 25). However, at the beginning of the letter (1, 1 & 2), he said a lot more: In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son. This Jesus is the author of the universal creation and even more of a new creation (2 Corinthians 5, 17 - 21) when on the cross of Calvary he provided purification for sins (Hebrews 1, 3). |
