Carelessness

At the first look it doesn't seem that carelessness is a serious mistake. In reality everything depends on the results. Carelessness of a nurse who forgets to give her patient the prescribed medicine will be considered as light if the state of the patient doesn't feel the effects, however if the patient dies this carelessness will be unforgiveable.

Today's verse speaks about those who ignore "such a great salvation". These people may not be mockings nor irreligious people nor indifferents. However, there is something, maybe a small nothing, which makes them put back their decision to accept Jesus as their Saviour. They intend to do it, but not immediately. They ignore the great salvation: - great because salvation is a gift of a great God, - great - because he can save the most guilty of us, - great because he gives everlasting life and access to the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

If you are one of these careless people think of the results of your carelessness: it is not a money problem, nor a health problem, nor a professional setback, it is a lot more than that, it is a definitive distance to God.
