Walk in truth

The Bible often uses a pictorial language. It speaks about "walk" to evoke behaviour. So the Bible speaks about walking in light, in love and in truth.

Walking in truth and walking physically have following in common: one makes step by step. Our days are constituted of decisions, words and attitudes which can be true or on the contrary marked by falseness or hypocrisy. From choice to choice and from moment to moment the position of man is specified either in truth or in lie.

How can one walk in truth? It is not enough to read or to quote the Bible correctly. One has to live the Bible in all domains. Our live forms a whole. Truth should shine through our lives. Do we really wish that truth comes down like a plumb line in all the parts of our life to control the orientations? Do we wish that truth removes everything which is false and unrighteous?

Then let us continuously choose the Lord and his interests. He is the light which tests our acts and words. Does he approve what we do, what we say or even what we think? He costs to recognize what can be hypocritical or artificial in our life. However, the Holy Spirit leads us on the way of freedom.
