water separting line: towards north or south

20th March

Water separating line

When you travel on the motorway between Mulhouse and Belfort you come across a noticeboard mentioning: "Water separating line". This is where the rainwater separates; it either goes to the north or the south. In the north it ends in the North Sea by the Rhine and in the south it ends in the Mediterranean by the Doubs, Saône and Rhône.

It is not important to know that two water draps which fall a few meters from each other end up in two different seas. Something is more important and should be taken into consideration: there is also a separating line for man! There are two different directions and two opposed destinations.

It is possible that two persons can live near each other and leave this world for absolutely opposed destinations. In the evangelized countries a choice will have been offered to them at least once. They will have heard or read the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ; one will accept this good news and the other will refuse it. The destination of the one who accepts the good news is opposed to the destination of him who refuses the good news.

The one who listens, who is persuaded and attracted by the love of God is the one who takes the good direction.

The one who refuses this message of grace and forgiveness closes his heart to God. He is carried away to the slope of indifference and towards a terrible irreversible condition.

Are you on the good slope? Are you on the way to the good destination?
