Faith

Do you have faith?

- No, I don't have any faith. I would like to have faith but I have not received it.

Please excuse me my friend, I am interrupting you. Are you aware that nobody can live without faith? This morning you found your newspaper in the letterbox and a little later your mail. You expected it and you knew that it would be there. You work in a firm and you trust that you will be payed at the end of the month. You have ordered something by mail, sent a cheque and you do nout doubt that you will receive it. You have made an appointment with somebody and you are sure that this appointment will be respected. You admit that normally we can trust people, otherwise life in society would be impossible.

However, have you never been disappointed in your expectations by a strike, a lost order, a fail to keep an appointment or a promise which has not been kept?

Do you think it is wiser to trust men than God? The Bible says that: "God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind." (Numbers 23, 19). It is not the impossibility to believe but is your will to leave God outside of your life which is holding you up. You do not want to loose the control of your life. However, if Jesus Christ is not your master, have you questioned yourself whom you believe?
