Discouragement is a fearsome weapon which the devil uses to do evil to the believers and he well knows the result.

5th March Overcome discouragement He particularly attacks them who wish to live near Jesus and who wish to serve Jesus. In Psalm 62, 1, 2 & 5 we read: "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I shall never be shaken. Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him." Psalm 27, 1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation." Satan appears sometimes as a roaring lion and sometimes as a sly serpent. Our resources are always in Him who defeated him on the cross. Let us stay at the feet of Jesus and in prayer; and let us be conscient of our weakness in order to be dressed with the complete armour which God mentions in Ephesians 6, 11 - 17. Let us read the Bible which is useful to teach, convince, correct, instruct in justice and which brings encouragements and comfort to our soul. Our soul always needs encouragements and comfort. So God "gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak" (Isaiah 40, 29). Let us listen to Jesus who repeats to us: "Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6, 34). Your wisdom, your grace and your power are united to lead us to the happy stay, O God! Your care for us never weakens: Night and day you follow us with your eyes. |
