Faith

Our faith needs a foundation. It is not a bridge in the emptiness; it depends on God's word. Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ (Romans 10, 17).

Maybe one of the most serious sins is to doubt of God, to not believe in his promises and to make him a liar. In any case those will be without God for eternity. This is the biggest remorse.

Faith is a gift of God. We cannot create it ourselves, but we can ask God for it, if we are ready to fulfill the conditions to receive it: our conscience has to be according to God. We have to humble ourselves before him, acknowledge our failures, confess our unbelief and be decided to obey him.

As Christians we should take care that nothing can hinder our faith. We should not let any unconfessed disobedience put a cloud of separation between God and us.

Generally, it is not the burden of our preoccupations which crushes us but it is the fact that we persist in carrying it on our own.
