Suicide in France

Bruno is an 11 year old boy. In a supermarket he is caught steeling a toy. Police-men bring him home. The flat is empty, because his mother is still at work. Full of shame he throws himself out of the window from the 7th floor.

Béatrice was raped by her stepfather. She swollows an overdose of medicine to finish with her life which she is disgusted of.

James is setback at school and is afraid of the future. He didn't dare to speak with anybody about his fears. He hanged himself.

"I want to disappear from this world which I don't understand. I love you." This is the last message of Peter who is a brilliant scholar to his parents...

Every year about 150 000 people try to commit suicide in France; 12 000 people die. In France this is the first cause of death for adults between 25 and 34 years old. For teenagers suicide is the second cause of death after accidents in France.

Why do thousands of young people have such a difficulty to live? Sometimes they mention it: life is to ugly; there is no future. They don't support conflicts, divorce or difficulties which are linked with the crisis or unemployment. Some have a heavy burden of guilt because their behaviour is immoral. This is maybe your best friend's or even your distress?

Can somebody understand? Yes, somebody who knows you well and who knows the future. The God of hope wants to give you "a future and a hope".
