Look at the simple things (3)

The person of Jesus Christ

To enable man to find his relationship with God again, God made himself man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is perfectly God and perfectly man. On earth Jesus was a man totally depending on God, obedient, without mistakes and he only did good works.

The work of Jesus Christ

His contemporaries could not support his perfection. They rejected him and put him to death on the cross. God however qualified his perfection to pay the great debt of the world's sin. He was placed between earth and heaven. He came to save man and was rejected by man and abandoned by God although he accomplished God's will. However, God's righteousness was satisfied and his anger against sin calmed. God resurrected Jesus and made him sit at his right hand. He established him as a "judge over the living and the dead."

Salvation offered by Jesus Christ

If God is light, a perfect judge and inflexible then we cannot hope to be saved. The Bible even says that there is no hope at all.

However, God is the God of miracles: what is impossible for man is possible for God. God has decided to forgive anybody who recognizes that he is guilty and who believes in his Son because of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
