Where was the treasure?

It was a poor house and a poor home. The parents did not stop quarelling in front of the terrorized children. One day a Christian from the village visited these people at the moment when the parents were quarelling.

The father apologizes: "Oh, Sir, our problem is lack of money. So every expense is an occasion for a quarrel."

Bible : a treasure The visitor sees a thick Bible on a shelf and he declares with a convinced voice: "My friends, you have a treasure in your house. You could be the most happiest family of the village."

The visitor seemed serious. He left the house with these mysterious words. The couple looked everywhere but they could not see a treasure. They thought that this sir made fun of them. However, one morning the eyes of the woman were drawn to the Bible. Is this the treasure? Quickly she wipens the dust and opens the book which had been neglected for so many years. The first words which attract her attention are those which her mother had underligned: "The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold" (Psalm 119, 72). This is really a treasure. She starts to read with growing interest.

When her husband comes home, she tells him: "I have found the treasure: it is in this book; let us read it together." They did this for their happiness.
