An unknown word: Repentance!

A message appears on the screen: Word unknown: repentance. How can it be that this word is unknown? My traditional dictionnary agreed with me. However, it's definition of "repentance" left me perplexed: out of date or literary. "A sad memory, regret of failures and sins". This is why the authors of the software had got rid of this "out of date" and "literary" word in their dictionnary.

However, I know a place where this word has not fallen into disuse ... heaven! Listen to Jesus who tells his listeners: "There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent (Luke 15, 7). Heaven knows the meaning of the noun repentance and the verb repent. If you are a Christian, on the wonderful day when you repented and believed in the good news (Mark 1, 15) heaven rejoiced!

Repent is a universal command of God given to all people everywhere (the verse of today). Repentance is God's condition to save his creatures.

For our happiness we need to know the meaning and the reality of the word repentance.
