For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: "As surely as I live" says the Lord, "every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God." So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Romans 14, 10 - 12

20th October

plough the maize field on a Sunday

The day of giving account

An unbeliever wrote letters to the editor of a parish leaflet: "It is important for me to tell you this experience. I ploughed the maize field on a Sunday. I only cultivated it on Sundays. Now then, I realized that this October I obtained a yield of a hectare bigger than all my neighbours."

The answer is a small sentence: "God doesn't settle all his scores in October".

In fact it happens that irreligious people go from success to success to the point to make believers jealous. Do we have to conclude that God is indifferent towards what men do or even that he doesn't exist?

Take care! "Surely there is a God who judges the earth." (Psalm 58, 11). God is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3, 9).

The Bible tells us another experience, the experience of Asaph who is the author of Psalm 73. He saw prosperity of those who didn't respect God, he was envious of them and said until he understood their end and saw how they were destroyed in one moment for eternal perdition: "What's the use of being a believer?" For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12, 14).
